Woodblock Wednesday - October Edition and NBUS #91

I missed last months Woodblock Wednesday so I made sure to get with the program and submit for this month!

Since I'm using 2 stamps that have been in my collection for many years and never stamped. Also first time using a new die set this is also going in NBUS #91

Here is my card:

The stamp was called, Taking a Break and was from a store called, A Country Welcome out of Sweet Home, Oregon.  It is sadly no longer in business.  I purchase this stamp way back in 1997 inked it once but never did anything with the inked image.  In fact I don't even know where that one went. - So I reinked it just for this challenge.

I stamped the image with Versa Fine Clair Nocturne ink on water color card stock and painted it with water color paints.  Then I cut it out using new to me dies (Eyelet Layer Frames) Simon Says Stamp that were gifted to me by my wonder friend, TK from Time4Kards.

I mounted the image with foam tape on a layer of Shaded Spruce cs (SU) and then onto a piece of white cs.  Glitter and Wink of Stella were added to the image along with a Snowflake die from Momenta purchased at Hobby Lobby and a blue brad was added to the middle of the snowflake. I cut the ends off and used a glue dot to adhere it to the card.

The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts and again had never been stamped.  There were 4 stamps in the collection and since Winter is my least favorite season I just never used it.  It fit well with this stamp set though.  I stamped it in the same ink directly onto the image.

Thanks for stopping by and checking it out.  Happy Stamping.

Inspired By ...Candy

Just getting this in under the wire for the challenge:
Inspired By - #IB412

Here is my card:

So for my card I went with my Inspiration for the (Candy) theme by using a particular piece of patterned paper.

My focal image is from Unity Stamps (Boo to You) stamp set. I first cut out a Unity Grunge Tag Die and then stamped the image with Versa Fine Clair Noctured ink.  I colored the image with a combination of Copic markers and Colored pencils. I also used the retired SU stamp set: Itty Bitty Backgrounds to stamp some splatters using  Distress Oxide Wilted Violet ink. Then I used a piece of Gorgeous Grape cs to mount the image to and rounded the corners on it. The image was then mounted with foam tape.

My card base is: Basic Black (SU).  Then I used a piece of designer paper from a DCWV 6x6 pad (Pets & Pumpkins) which I've had in my stash for a couple of years now.  I rounded the corners on it.
Attached a row of punched ghosts EK Success rounder the corners and tied some purple Bakers twine around it.

I cut a strip of Granny Apple Green cs (SU) and stamped the old retired Sanded background (I love that background stamp) and distressed the edges.  Then stamped the Boo sentiment with Versa Mark embossing ink and used Bold Black embossing powder.

I hope you enjoyed this card. - It was fun to make.

Two Old Bats Halloween Anything Goes & NBUS #91

Hello & Welcome!

Today's card is being entered for the following challenges:

Here is the (Mood Board) from the TOB challenge: I was inspired by the Witch on the mood board.

Here is my card:

I've had this adorable stamp set from Colorado Craft Company for at least a year . ( Witch's Potion)  I won it on a blog hop.  I finally decided to ink it up and create a card.

I was inspired by this card that I found HERE - Thanks for the inspiration. - I also just happened to have a piece in my scrap pile that reminded me of the moon so I decided to use it as my backdrop for the witch.

I colored the Witch with Prisma Colored Pencils blended with Gamsol & Fussy cut her out.  The edges of the moon were blended with a little Distress Oxide ink (Black Soot) and spritz with a little water. I also added some splatters of the same ink using a piece of acetate, water and a tooth brush.  Then I added more splatters the same way with Antique Linen Distress Spray. - It added a gold sparkle (see the close up below).

My card base was: Basic Black (SU)
Next Layer was Granny Apple Green (SU) that I stamped the old retired Sanded Background in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I added a scrap of patterned paper and a small strip of Gorgeous  Grape cs. - Mounted the image with foam tape and added a few sequins (Picket Fence Studio) to complete the card. Also some Wink of Stella was used on the spiderweb on the bottle.  You can see a bit of that shimmer below as well.

Thanks for stopping by. - I had a lot of fun with this card and hope the recipient enjoys it as much as I did making it for her.

Haunted Halloween - NBUS#91

Hello. - I'm excited because today I'm actually able to share a card with you! - Just an update on Hubby,  he's doing quite well since his heart stent surgery.  Thank you to everyone who sent up prayers for him.

So the card I'm sharing today is being shared for NBUS#91

It's my very first time using this stamp set and patterned paper.

The image and sentiment are from Sweet Miss Daisy (aka Anna Wight) - You can find this stamp set HERE.  It's called, Haunted.
The patterned paper is from her Etsy shop as well.  It's called,
Monster Prints and can be found HERE.

I actually started out this card by stamping the image with Versa Fine Clair Nocturne ink on water color card stock.  I then painted the image with water color paints. Then I rounded the top corners with a corner rounder punch and distressed the edges with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink (Ranger product).  I also used some Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink smooshed on acetate, spritzed with water and splattered using a toothbrush.

I embossed a piece of Basic Black cs with a spiderweb embossing folder and used a brayer to add white pigment ink (Hero Arts Unicorn).  Next I used an edger die (Unity Stamps - Not sure if this is still available).  I then took a piece of the Monster Prints patterned paper and randomly painted in several of the eye balls using orange, green and purple water color paints.  I stamped the sentiment with the same ink, rounded the corners and distressed the edges.  A few gold colored gems were added as well.  Image mounted with foam tape.

It's hard to see in the photo but the house itself has a bit of a shimmer as the paint I used had a metallic finish to it.  Sort of a shiny copper color.

Thanks for stopping by.  - It was good to stamp again.
