One Last Halloween Card

Hello and thanks for stopping in.

Well it was a sad day this week when my trusty Cuttlebug embossing machine finally bit the big one.  After 20+ years of using it the poor thing had finally had enough.  -  Have no fear a new machine is on the way.

Unfortunately I probably won't be using it for a few days since I'm scheduled to have Cataract surgery (both eyes) next week.  So if I'm absent from the blog you'll know why. - In the mean time....
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So today I'm sharing the last of the Halloween cards that I made this year.  This one wasn't for any particular challenge (sometimes those are the most fun).  I will however enter this for the NBUS challenge #19 since the dog stamp and paper I used had never been used until this card.

The stamp set is:Cat and Friends (Inkadinkado) - I have used the sentiment and one of the other images before - You can see that card HERE.
That card was 10 years ago!
The paper is from the Midnight Spell Mat Stack (DCWV).  First time using that pattern.
Card Stock: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White (SU)
Colored with Prisma Colored Pencils and blended with Gamsol.
Other:  Corner notch punch (SU) - Bakers Twine (source unknown), Foam mounting tape.

Enjoy & Happy Halloween everyone who celebrates the holiday & even to those who don't.  Have a great week.

Fusion Card Challenge - Purple Night

Today I'm joining the Fusion Card Challenge for Purple Night.

Here was the inspiration board:

I  chose to work with the sketch and the photo.

Here is my card:

I started with a white card base and then used designer paper from the Spooky Time stack (DCWV).  I added a small strip of black card stock between the white portion and the patterned paper.

The lamp image & sentiment are from Creepy Lane (Inkadinkado).
The small spider is from Studio G

I colored the lamp image with chalks and also edge the white card stock with chalk.

The small spider was stamped with Perfect Plum ink. The Sentiment and Lamppost images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I fussy cut the image and mounted it with foam tape.  To finish off the card I added some gold gems.

Be sure to check out the other entries for this fun challenge.

Festive Fall and 2 challenges.

Hi! - Today's card is being featured for the Color Throwdown challenge and the Freshly Made Sketch challenge.

Here is the card that I created for these challenges.

For this card I used a Kraft card base paired with designer paper from the Pumpkin Patch Stack (DCWV).
The Scarecrow image is from Unity Stamps and the Sentiment stamp is from Stampa Rosa.

I stamped the Scarecrow image with Memento Tuxedo black ink on Whisper White Card stock and colored it with various Prisma Colored Pencils and blended with Gamsol. Then I mounted it to a piece of Basic Black card stock and layered it onto the designer paper.

The sentiment was stamped on the reverse side of the dp with black ink and mounted to black card stock.  I mounted the sentiment with foam mounting tape and added some sequins to finish the card off.

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge

Today I'm sharing a card that I created for a new blog,

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge. - I found out about this from one of my blogging/stamping friends, Leslie Miller who just happens to be one of the design team members for this new blog.

Here is the card that I created for the challenge:

I think this might be one of my all time favorite Halloween cards that I've created.  This one came together exactly how I envisioned it.

I started with a Basic Black (SU) card Base.  Then I added a piece of designer paper, DCWV-Spooky time stack. - Because the color wasn't exactly what I wanted I sponged on some distress ink to get the shade I was looking for.

Next up I stamped the Crow image on Whisper White card stock and used distress inks sponged over the image.  I mounted that to a piece of Pumpkin Pie Card Stock.  The sentiment was stamped the same way and mounted on Basic Black card stock.

I added a punched spiderweb border, a distressed strip on pumpkin pie card stock that I accordion folded and then glued down.

Finishing touches were black pearls & a punched spider that I added black glitter too.

Stamp Sets Used: Crow - Inkadinkado - Sentiment from Creepylane Stamp Set - Inkadinkado - I've used this crow before.  You can view that card HERE

Distress Inks: Dried Marigold, Fired Brick (Tim Holtz) and I added a little Memento London Fog ink as well

Other Items: Spider Punch - EK Success, Black Hole Glitter-The Art Institute, Black Pearls-Annabelle Stamps (no longer in business), Spiderweb Punch-Martha Stewart

NBUS - Harvest Moon

Well I haven't posted here in a couple of days so I thought I would share a card I made about 2 weeks ago for one of the challenges but never submitted because I didn't think it fit the challenge after completing it.  I am going to submit it now for NBUS challenge #19

I used a stamp set that I have had for some time but had never inked it up.

Here is the card that I created:

Stamp Set:  Harvest Moon (Amuse Studio)
Card Stock: Old Olive, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla.
Patterned Paper: Eerie Paper Pad (Basic Grey)
Other:  Herringbone Embossing Folder, Circle Dies, Yellow Gems and Foam mounting tape.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black,  Memento London Fog,Garden Green, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso & Soft Suede.

I stamped the moon with the London Fog ink and then sponged on the Crushed Curry.  Next I stamped the Owl with the Soft Sued and fussy cut it out.  I stamped the branch of the tree limb with Early Espresso ink and the leaves with the garden green.  They were also fussy cut and then glued onto the moon image.  The owl was mounted with foam tape & I added the gem eyes.
Next I embossed a piece of the Soft Suede card stock and added the designer paper.  I mounted that onto the Old Olive card base & stamped the sentiment with the Tuxedo black ink on top of the embossed piece and card base.

Fairy clean and simple design.

Freshly Made Sketches & Mod Squad Challenge

 Hello & Welcome!

Today I'm sharing a card that I created for the current Freshly Made Sketch Challenge (FMS #456)
I'm also entering my card for the current Mod Squad Challenge Blog,

Card Details:  Card Stock: Soft Suede, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green and Whisper White (SU).
Stamps: Pumpkin Scarecrow (Stampendous) - This is a very old stamp. The sentiment is from the Hello Foxy Stamp set (Amuse Studio).
Designer Paper: Pumpkin Patch Stack (DCWV)
Ink: Versamark & Memento Tuxedo Black.
Detail Black Embossing Powder (SU)
Various colors of SU Pads were used to watercolor the image.  I used a water brush and lifted the color from the pads. - I'm a little rusty at this technique but I like how it turned out.
Other: Washi Tape - row of pumpkins, sequins, foam mounting tape & circle punches.

Paper Players Fall Critters

It's time for the newest Paper Players challenge.  But before I get to that I am excited to say that my card for the sketch challenge #510 was chosen as (A Cut Above) winner.

Now on to the newest challenge:

Fall is one of my 2 favorite seasons and I just had to make a card for this challenge.

Here is what I came up with for PP511

I colored the raccoon with colored pencils and fussy cut it and mounted it on the circle die which I had sponged with the pear pizzazz ink. The leaves on the sentiment are actually rub-ons that were part of this collection.

I pulled out an old stamp last seen here on the blog back in 2014 with (this card).
I just think that little raccoon is so adorable.

Details: Stamps:  Raccoon is from
Snag 'em stamps Apple Cider Collection by Imaginisce.
Have a Festive Fall Stamp: Stamp Rosa - Another old stamp in my collection.
Card Stock: Chocolate Chip (retired SU), Cajun Craze & Whisper White (SU)
Patterned Paper - Imaginisce - Apple Cider-Autumn Splendor collection.
Ink: Early Espresson, Memento Tuxedo Black, Pear Pizzazz.
Other: Prisma Color Pencils, Circle Nestabilitie Dies, Fishtail Dies(MFT)

Such a fun challenge.  Be sure to stop by the Paper Players blog and check out all the entries and hey why not make a card yourself and enter it.

Hello everyone. - Did you all make cards on Saturday for World Card Making day? - I got a couple of cards made but we had other things going on that prevented me from doing any challenges or making very many cards.

I did however manage a card for the current CAS(E) - Case this Sketch Challenge #392

Here is the sketch:

Here is the card that I created using the inspiration sketch.

Details:  Card Stock: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black and Whisper White (SU) - Patterned Paper (DCWV)
Stamps: Inkadinkado
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black & Dried Marigold Distress Ink (Tim Holtz)
Fence Die (source unknown)

I may give this sketch another try this week if time permits.

Mod Squad Challenge - Use A Tag and NBUS

 Hello & Happy Friday!

I'm back today with a new card and a new challenge.
Today I'm participating in the Mod Squad blog challenge, Use a Tag.
I'm also joining the NBUS blog challenge #19  since I've used new and never before been used stuff on this card.

Here is the card I created for the challenge.
This is the outside of the card and below is the inside of the card.
I saw a stamp set on a website that I wanted and wouldn't you know it the darn thing was sold out.  - That's because it was a set from way back in 2015.  I've not stamped in a long time so it's a challenge when I find things I like but discover they are already out of date, sold out etc..

I did find the stamp set at Frantic Stamper & purchased it so today's card features that stamp set: Safari Wild About You - Hero Arts. The sentiment on the inside is from a set by Mint Motif - Very Square Sentiments. - Sadly this company is no longer in business.
The giraffe was fussy cut and mounted on the tag with foam tape. I distressed the outside espresso tag with my fingernail.

Card Details:  Card Stock: Early Espresso & Very Vanilla (SU)
Designer Paper (Safari Chic Matstack - DCWV) which I've had in my stash since 2012 and have only used one piece on this card.
So I think the pieces I used for this card will still qualify for never before been used stuff.
Ink: Early Espresso (SU)

Other: Circle Punches (SU), Tag Corner Punch (SU) Ribbon: Chocolate and Cream (SU) - To get that effect I cut of the side of the grosgrain ribbon and pulled the treads off and then put them through the punched hole in the tag.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day.

Freshly Made Sketches #455 - Two times the fun

 Hello and Welcome!

It's time for another Freshly Made Sketch
Here is the sketch for this challenge:

I had so many ideas for this sketch.  Some of them worked and some of them didn't.  - I started out trying to use a Star die to go along with the star element in the sketch.  Sadly I had to ditch that idea because I didn't have the paper I wanted to work with my idea.

So then I came up with a card but wasn't totally happy with how it turned out. - I gave it a rest and started over this morning.  I'm going to show both of my cards but am just entering one of them in the challenge.  - Click to Enlarge photos.

Card #1 - This is the card that turned out the way I wanted it to and I was happy with it.
Card Stock: Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Smoky Slate and Crushed
 Curry.
Designer Paper: DCWV - Pumpkin Patch
Ink: Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Memento London Fog and Encore Copper Metallic
Stamps: Large Leaf - PSX (Personal Stamp Exchange) which I've had forever.  The Acorns and Sentiment are fromTCP Studio Fabulous Fall set.
Here is another view of the card that shows the sentiment up better.

Again I love this Designer paper because it has pieces that look embossed (the leaves on the side) Plus you can see that I brushed the copper metallic ink onto the large leaf, the acorns & the old olive circle.

The large leaf and acorns were both fussy cut and mounted with foam tape. - I also added sequins.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Card #2 - This is the card that I wasn't totally thrilled with.
In this case I flipped the sketch.

Details: Card Stock: Concord Crush (I'm not totally certain but I think that is the color), Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black & Whisper White. - Pattern paper, Eerie Paper Pad - Basic Grey.
Stamps: Witch and Sentiment (Source Unknown) but most likely either Inkadinkado or Studio G as I bought a lot of small Halloween stamps from JoAnn's and those were the brands they carried.  I did use an SU set for the larger bat which was fussy cut and layered on the white circle.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black.
Other: Spider Border Punch - Martha Stewart, Green/White twine, Sequins & Circle Nestabilitie Dies.

So there you have it two cards using the same sketch. There is still time for you to play so why don't you give this sketch a try.
