Freshly Made Sketches #609

Welcome.  I hope you are having a great start to your week.

Today I'm sharing a card for FMS609

My card follows the sketch for the most part.  I had an idea in mind and those banners were just hanging me up as I didn't want them to cover my image panel.  So hopefully this still meets the challenge.

I'm going to use the holly leaves as my banners and yes I know there are 3 instead of 2 but it just looked better with three leaves.

Details:  Card Base, Very Vanilla.  Covered with a piece of SU Designer Paper (retired).  The strip is the reverse side of the paper.

Stamps used: Tim Holtz Mixed Media purchased at JoAnn's a couple of years ago.  I embossed the sentiment with Bold Black embossing powder.

Mounted the sentiment on a rectangle die of Very Vanilla and layered with the Scalloped die of Cherry Cobbler.

Cut out some Holly Leaves and Berries in Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Garden Green.  Sentiment and Berries were mounted with foam tape.

Used a punch (EK Success?) and then a strip of Cherry Cobbler to mimic the pierced border at the bottom of the sketch.

That's is.  Pretty CAS and one more card in my very small stash of Christmas cards.  So many more to go!

Color Throwdown#766 and NBUS #55 (Embrace Autumns Magic)

Grab our badge to display on your blog.

Welcome!

Today's card  was created for the Color Throwdown #766

I went a little bit out of the box for me on this card.

I wanted to use some of my new stamps from Unity Stamps ( a favorite company of mine) so I chose to use the 3 Circles and the sentiment from the October KOM (Golden glow) and the Wheat image from the September KOM (Harvest Hues) along with the October Background of the Month (Woodgrain Whisper)

Click to enlarge image.  For some reason the screen is giving off a more turquoise look to the blue but it's really not turquoise.

Details: Card Base - Only Orange (retired SU) then a layer of Balmy Blue card stock stamped with the background stamp in Balmy Blue.

The Wheat was stamped on Very Vanilla card stock with Crumb Cake Ink.  Then I stamped the circles over it with Only Orange & Balmy Blue inks.  I distressed the edges with the Only Orange ink and a distressing tool.  The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I added 3 light blue gems and mounted the panel on an angle with foam mounting tape to complete the card.

I'm not sure what style of card you'd call this, Grunge, Distressed, Eclectic?  - What would you say the style is?

Anyway I really like how it turned out and hope you do as well.

Since several of the stamps were brand new I'll be posting this on NBUS#55 as well.

Paper Players - PP663 (Creep it Real)

Today I'm joining in for this weeks Paper Players Sketch Challenge,

Below is the card I created for this challenge.

I actually had parts of this card in my project box hoping to figure out what to do with them.   After seeing the sketch I decided to use up what I already had put together and create some more to go along with it.

I had the card base done and the Spider Tag.  The rest I added to complete my card.

Lots of parts/pieces went into this one.

Card Stock: Cajun Craze.  Layered with a piece of Designer paper from,  Echo Park (Something Wicked - 2021)

That tags were cut with an Amuse Studio Die

One was cut from the Cajun Craze card stock and has a piece of patterned plaid paper (Carta Bella - Welcome Autumn 2021).  A punched spider and a piece of a spider web border.  I added the ribbon (American Crafts) and stapled it down.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamps (Creepin' it Real) stamp set.

The second tag was cut with a piece of the Something Wicked Designer paper.  I added a Vellum Ghost that I stamped on heavy vellum with Bold Black embossing powder and cut out.  The Ghost is part of a stamp set from Echo Park (Halloween Party). I added some eyeball washi tape and frayed pumpkin pie ribbon. The tags were mounted with foam tape.  I even used very tiny pieces of the tape to mount the ghost.

That's my take on the sketch.  I hope you enjoy what I've created.

Please stop by the blog and check out the DT cards & also the participants.

Inspired by Ghosts

Joining in on the Inspired By challenge this week.  The theme was,Inspired by Ghosts.  You can use the sketch or the inspiration photo as well for your project.

Here is the card that I created:

I chose to use the sketch and Ghosts on my card.  I varied off the color scheme of the photo.

Details:  Card Base: Gorgeous Grape, Embossed Layer, Pumpkin Pie
Stamps used: Ghost Cat (Inkadinka Do) - Boo sentiment (Unity Sept KOM Harvest Hues)
Patterned Paper: DCWV Pets & Pumpkins
Embossing Folder - D'Vine Swirls Cuttlebug
Stylish Dies SU
Sequins - Picket Fence Studios

I also added some glitter to the eyes of the Ghost cat & used my Wink of Stella pen on the ghost to add shimmer.

That's my take on the challenge.  I hope you enjoyed it.
Have a great week.  Be sure to check out the DT members cards & also challenge participants.

Trick or Treat Fun - PP661 and NBUS55

 Welcome!

It's the start of a new week and today I'm joining the Paper Players for,
PP661 - a color challenge from LeAnne and also NBUS#55 since this is my first time using this adorable stamp set.

Before I post my card a special thanks to Claire for choosing my card
from last weeks (Space Theme) for a, Cut Above
award .

Now on to this weeks card. - When I saw the colors I was wondering how I could fit them all in the challenge and then I discovered the perfect piece of designer paper that fit all the colors of the challenge and voila~ my card was born!

So I started with a card base of Basic Black.  Then I found the designer paper from Basic Grey-Eerie Paper Pad that I've had for a couple of years.  I then cut a strip of Highland Heather and added it over the top of the designer paper.  My little Ghost and Bat Bouquet stamp and sentiment are from Unity (Ghostly Bat Ensemble).  I added highlight color to the ghost image with some colored pencils and fussy cut it out.

The sentiment and ghost were stamped on Basic White Card Stock and stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink.
I added a zigzag punched piece of Old Olive and mounted the sentiment on Pumpkin Pie card stock.  The punch is from, EK Success.  - To finish off the card I added some sequins from Picket Fence studios (Witches Brew). - I love how this one turned out.

Be sure to check out the cool cards made by the Design Team and maybe even join in on the fun with a card of your own.

Thanks for stopping by.
