I joined a group on FB (BYSHC) Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers a few months back but never had the chance to participate until recently due to "life happening."
I finally got a card made for the Sketch Challenge #75
My card base is an old retired SU color (Brilliant Blue) but you cant really see that because it's covered up with the designer papers. Well actually you can because I used a piece of it under the focal image.
So I got this awesome paper packet for Christmas last year that had lots of swirly patterns in various colors. I picked the blue piece because it reminded me of a night sky.
Next I dusted off an old woodblock stamp from, Stampendous called, Bethlehem Window and stamped it with Versa Mark Ink and embossed with Silver embossing Powder on water color card stock.
Next I used a water brush and water color paints to paint the image and glued it to the blue piece of card stock. I added some Silver Cording and glitter to the center star. The white/silver patterned paper is also a retired SU paper pack.
I debated about trying to embellish this more but settled on adding 3 simple clear gems. I rather like how this turned out.
