A Rose By Any Other Name
Hello! Happy Labor Day (to those in the US) and a Happy Monday to all. Yesterday was Cupcake Inspiration Day over on Hope's Blog and she picked out a truly elegant cupcake inspiration photo. That gorgeous rose on the cupcake, the embossed tablecloth and the colors were the things that inspired me. I also decided to pair the CIC challenge with the Feel of Fall challenge on the Flourishes Blog as it lent itself to the image that I wanted to use for my card.
I chose this boquet of roses in a vase (Inkadinkado)and stamped it with Basic Black ink on Shimmery White card stock then colored the image with Prismacolor pencils. I added Crystal Effects to the vase and 3 Ruby Red Brads.
The card base is Confetti Red card stock (source unknown)layered with Shimmery White and Pretty in Pink embossed with my new Victoria Cuttlebug embossing folder. It's a shame so much got covered up as it's a beautiful pattern and really matched the pattern of the tablecloth quite well. I ran Craft White ink over it for a frosted look as well as on the piece that I mounted the focal image on.
I can't seem to stop using my MS Loopy punch so here it is again and then I used some White Satin ribbon (SU) for the bow on the card. I really love how this turned out.
Now why don't you stop by Hope's Blog and give the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge a try and then hop on over to the Flourishes blog and try out this great sketch as well.
Have a great day.

This is beautifully done! Everything is perfectly placed and balanced! You captured the inspiration piece and the sketch 100%!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Ida! Love your colours and that border punch is fabulous! Great job with both challenges.
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely! And there's that punch again...I swear that they have blocked these at the border or something! I am heading to M's tomorrow again (got a 50% off coupon burning a hole in my pocket!).
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I love the image you used for this combined challenge card. Inkadinkado is another of my favorite companies. Love that Loopy punch. I haven't seen that one. Looks like I may need to add it to my collection. This is one of the hazards of blog visiting -- it's tough on my budget!
ReplyDeleteIda, your card is so beautiful, it must be stunning IRL!!! Excellent work.
