Welcome to the Blogger Challenge. As you can see from my post Title today's theme is a color challenge (Red, Black and White). This is one of my all time favorite color combo's.
For my card today I chose another of the images from There She Goes (Love Birds) set.
I plan to give this card to hubby for Valentine's Day. Good thing he never visits my blog.
It's all pretty self-explanatory so if you have any questions feel free to email me.
Card Details:
Stamps: Love Birds - There She Goes clear stamps
Card Stock: Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White
Designer Paper - Source Unknown - Borrowed this scrap piece from my mom.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copic Markers - I really would love lessons on how to use these properly. I also need better cs to color as SU's Whisper White really doesn't work that great with Copics.
Loopy Punch - Martha Stewart
Heart Gems - Hero Arts
Heart Button
Black Grosgrain Ribbon - SU
Black Thread
Paper Distressing Tool
Black Thread

ReplyDeleteHey, get some Classic White cardstock from Flourishes for your Copics! You'll love it! It blends effortlessly!
How cute! Fab design, the spalsh of DP looks great here!
ReplyDeleteSweet birds. Love the hill. Great take on this weeks challenge.
ReplyDeleteIda,
ReplyDeleteThis is darling. I love this image and sentiment. It goes really well with the DSP you picked out.
As for your comment on copics - I hear you girl. It took me a while to get going with them. I found that I was always frustrated until I switched paper. That made all the difference. The copics behave very differently with different papers. Whisper White isn't very good for copics. It's great with ink, but if you are going to do any amount of coloring, you need to switch to a thicker paper. I use paper trey ink white. It's very thick and allows me to easily put copic color on and then layer more copic color on. The paper holds up and you don't get smearing. I also like how sturdy it is. When you make a card with lots of layers, the PTI paper can hold up and not fall down. Papertrey ink paper is only sold on-line, but is reasonably priced. All their paper is nice, all is thick - they have many colors, but I always copic on cream or white. Another paper I like a lot is Neenah. They make a few, I don't know what I have but all of them are good with copics. check out some websites. There are lots of opinions about which paper to use, but everyone agrees - the paper makes a huge difference.
The DSP is perfect for the focal image -- and those dew drops are awesome -- I'm lovin' those love birds!
ReplyDeleteAdorable card Ida, love the details, the rhinestones and that awesome scalloped trim on the edge, love red white and black too. Beautiful job.

ReplyDeleteWonderful card- I love this image! Your coloring is wonderful- the image is perfect in B/W and Red!
ReplyDeleteLove this, Ida! I've been eyeing that set for a while now, but haven't caved just yet. You might want to try the X-Press Copic blending cardstock with your Copics. It's so smooth! Kate carries it at i {heart} papers.
ReplyDeleteThis is darling Ida! Love your collection of punches! As far as your Copic markers go, I agree with the others that left a comment...paper choice does matter. I, for some reason, do not have much luck with the Neenah card stock. I don't know why, but I don't. My favorite card stock for Copics is Papertrey Ink white. Good luck with all of it! :D
ReplyDeleteThis is too stinkn' cute! Love the tall ard design andthe layout is fantastic! {SMILES}
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun, whimsical card! Love the layout....LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteGreat card! I love all your details and dimensions.
ReplyDeleteOh, how absolutely darling! LOVE this! You're right about Whisper White. It has a coating which makes it great for stamping on, but it doesn't absorb ink, and that means no blending. Love the birds and the tiny hearts and the DP on this!
ReplyDeleteYou do the cutest cards!! Love the layout on this one and of course the cute bird image!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this darling card! Great job :0)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the tweet-heart!!! Always look forward to seeing what YOU come up with!
