Welcome!
Today I'm sharing a card that I created for the Mod Squad Pretty Poinsettia Challenge & also NBUS#32 - Click on the links to be taken to the challenge.
For today's card I am using my new Poinsettia Die which I have featured here once before on (this card) but since I'm entering this on the NBUS blog I am also using the brand new Poinsettia Panel Die. Both the poinsettia panel and poinsettia die are from Waffle Flower Stamps.
My card base is Real Red. I cut out the poinsettia panel die on Basic White Card Stock and again on a patterned piece of SU designer paper (Heartwarming Hugs). I glued the white panel down on the card base and then took the punched out pieces of patterned paper and glued them into the open slots left from punching out the white poinsettia from the panel (I saved those for another project).
Next I used Winter White Embossing Powder (SU) and stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment (SU - For Unto Us) with versamark ink on real red card stock before adding the embossing powder and heat set it. I punched out the Poinsettia flower with basic white card stock, layered them together and added a red sequin to the middle of the flower. Then I used foam mounting tape to raise it up.
That's it...I really like how this one turned out.
they are all pretty, I like the first My Card and her other card and yours. all of the ones who followed the design are beautiful... i see a few that did not follow.
ReplyDeleteI like this one a lot. The red and white color scheme is very striking. When I read mod squad all I could think of was that old tv series from back in the day.
ReplyDeleteWow, Ida, this is very striking! I love the design with all that red and white. There is just something so pure and beautiful about a white poinsettia! Thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteHonestly, that is the prettiest poinsettia! I love it in white, and on the background panel with the DP peeking through -- fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI REALLY love how this turned out! Beautiful, Ida, and I love the cover plate and the separate die. The use of polka dot paper on the flowers is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. Love the red and white color way and the crisp die cuts. Lots of fabulous work here, and great take on the challenge. Thanks so much for playing along with us over at the Mod Squad. Hope to see you back again soon!!!
