Paper Players 773 - Balloons and Birthdays and NBUS #83

I love it when I can participate in a few challenges.  This card is going into the Paper Players PP773 - Balloons and Birthdays challenge.

Since I'm also using brand new products I'll be posting over on the NBUS #83 challenge as well.

Here is my card:

Don't you just love how hilarious that chicken is!
For this card I used the, Still Peckin' Fabulous stamp set from Unity Stamp Company.  - It features 2 super funny chickens (with balloons) and several fun sentiments.

I stamped the image on white card stock and colored with Prisma Colored Pencils.  After coloring the image I created a mask and then  used a cloud/grass stencil (All Night Media) that I've had for years to create a little scene around the image.  I also added Diamond Glaze to the balloon.  I used a piece of colorful polka dot paper (source not known) and layered it on a piece of Granny Apple Green cs and cut it out with a Unity Scallop/Rectangle die.  I ran part of it through a Chicken Wire embossing folder as well.  Photo corners were added (punch is ek success). Enamel dots were added as well.  The sentiment is from the stamp set. Image and sentiment were mounted with foam tape. I also added 2 black pearls to the center of the eyes. Glitter was added to the hat and candles.

Card stock colors: Bermuda Bay (I miss that one a lot), Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Basic White and Basic Black (SU).

Close-ups of some of the details:

You can see that the patterned paper has some indented portions that have shimmer to them.

Card has been sent to the recipient,  I hope he gets a kick out of it.

Celebrating the 4th and NBUS#76

 Hi,  Welcome to my blog.

Today I'm sharing 2 cards using the same stamp set. Both these cards have been mailed and on their way to brighten someone's day. Click to enlarge card for better detail.

The stamp set used on both cards is: Purr-ade Crasher Pissy Kitty from Unity Stamp Company.

For this card I started with a card base of Night of Navy (SU) and stamped the small start and the meowica sentiment in a random pattern.  Then I layered that with a piece of designer paper from USC, (Grand Ol' Flag) paper pack.
I stamped the kitty on watercolor card stock with Versa mark ink and embossed with black embossing powder (Bold Black-SU). Then I used ink pads and a water brush to color the kitty.  I added glitter to the fireworks and Wink of Stella to the stars on the shirt/sunglasses. Image was cut out with a circle die from Unity.  I stamped the sentiment on the same watercolor cs and cut it out with a fishtail die.
Then I added another piece of the designer paper cut with a larger fishtail die. I finished the card off with a small punched star and mounted the image and banners with foam tape.
You can see the sparkle here on the glasses, shirt and sparkler.

Card #2:

Same stamped image of Pissy Kitty this time on Basic White card stock. Colored with pencils and blended with Gamsol/blending stumps. Then I fussy cut the image out.  I also stamped a second image and colored the sunglasses which were then cut out and later mounted with foam tape over the image (more on that in a bit)

Card base is Basic White. - Layered with patterned paper also from Unity but this packet is called, (Yankee doodle Dandy)

More patterned paper was used for the star layer, striped layer and the 3 small stars on the card.  All were from the above named paper package.

Postage dies *Unity which are currently Sold Out.  I stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo black ink and edged the die with some Misty Moonlight ink (SU). The larger star and the kitty image were mounted with foam tape to raise them up.

After coloring the sunglasses and cutting them out.  I used some Diamond glaze (JudiKins) to make them look like actually sunglasses.  This was a bit tricky since I accidentally cut the hole on my bottle a little bit to much so the glaze comes out sometimes a little faster then I want it to.  You will notice that in the close-up of the glasses.  But hey, it's still a fun little detail.

There you have it, 2 different cards with the same set. - I hope you like them.

Happy 4th of July to everyone in America!

First time using these stamps and papers so off to NBUS#76 they go.

Monster Mayhem3 - FMS#684

Greetings! - Guess what? - It's another Monster Mayhem card!

This one I'm entering for FMS#684  *on a fun note if you want to skip all the details you can read about my stamping mishaps at the end. - I promise you will laugh.

My card is done the opposite direction and I used a rectangle image instead of the circle. Plus this is a bit different from my first two monster cards as very little coloring was done on this one. Plus I did not use the matching paper pack.  Instead I chose to go a more, "grunge" style and used a monochromatic color scheme.

Here is my card:

I finally found my cloud stencil that I was looking for a few cards back (I believe it was the mouse with the umbrella card).

So I started off by stamping the Monster with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Crumb Cake (Kraft) card stock.  Next I made a mask of him and place it over the image white I blended white ink over the cloud stencil to create clouds.  My white pad is not the greatest so you don't see the white that well.  I need to find a different white pad. Then I colored the eyes with a white pencil and added highlights to the monster's hair and horns with a Copper metallic pencil.

Next up I spritzed the image with Brushed Pewter Mica Spray. Cut out with rectangle dies and mounted it on a piece of Basic Black cs that I distressed.  Wrapped some twine around the 2 corners and set it aside.

Next up I stamped a piece of Crumb Cake cs with Memento Black ink and a stamp from Unity Stamps (Squared Impressions) stamp set, tore the edge and distressed it with my finger and also added the same spritzing of mica spray to it. Then I added a strip of white card stock cut with a punch from EK Success . I glued that down to a piece of Copper metallic card stock and layered it onto the black card base.  I stamped the sentiment on the kraft card stock and mounted it with foam tape. The main image was also mounted with foam tape.

This really sparkles in real life, I tried to get a picture to show it but it looks even better than the picture.

So yesterday while working on the 2nd Monster card, I realized that I couldn't find the circle sentiment I'd put together anywhere on my desk.  I spent about a half an hour looking for it before deciding to just make a new one.  Of course as soon as I did that I found the original one...stuck to the back of the main image panel!

It get's better...so today while I'm stamping the background panel I stamped off the first image and then stamped the 2nd one which had barely any ink on it.  I'm thinking to myself that maybe I didn't get enough ink on it so I stamped it down a couple of times on the pad and then realized I'm not stamping on my ink pad.  I was stamping on top of my cell phone!  Boy did I feel silly.  Thankfully I was able to clean the ink off and discovered that my stamping pad was on my right hand side and not my left where my cell phone was.

Does anything like this ever happen to you while you are stamping?

That's it for my first set of Monster Mayhem cards.  - My, She Monsters will hopefully be here Monday so be prepared for more monster mania! - Thanks for stopping by.

Monster Mayhem - NBUS#73

Hello,  Thanks for stopping by.

Today I will be sharing a card that I created for no particular challenge whatsoever.

 Here is the card:

This card features one of the adorable monsters from Unity Stamps,
Monster Mayhem stamp set. It also features matching paper with the same name.

Details: Card Base, Basic Black (SU)
Basic White cs(SU)
Patterned Paper, Unity Stamps (Monster Mayhem)
Color Medium - Copic Markers
Embossing Folder, Spots n Dots (Cuttlebug)* - retired
Heart Punch *retired SU
Circle Dies from both Unity and MFT
Staples, Googly Eyes, Foam Mounting Tape

I stamped the Monster with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic Markers.  I am trying to learn how to use these markers so I've been watching a few video's - How do you think I did?

I just love this Monster set and what's even better is they came out with a girl monster set (I'm still waiting for mine to arrive) called,
She Monsters and patterned paper,  Love Notes  both available separately or in a Bundle package.  - I can't wait to use them.

Since this is my first time using this set I'm going to put it up on NBUS#73

Have a great day.

Halloween Bats

Hi,   Today I'm sharing a Halloween card that is CAS (Clean and Simple) card that I created.

I struggle with CAS designs so this may not be a totally CAS card but for me it it is.

Stamps used: Unity Stamps - August KOM - Thanks in all the things.
Card Stock: SU - Granny Apple Green, Basic White
Designer Paper - DCWV from my stash & a textured piece of black card stock purchased at Hobby Lobby.
Inks: Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight (SU) Memento Tuxedo Black
Other: Blending Brushes, White Lustre Pen, Amber gems, Foam Tape.

I stamped the image with black ink and used the colors of ink listed and blended them with a blending brush.  Splattered the white with the Lustre brush.  Added a strip of the designer paper to the textured black paper and glued to card base.  Glued the gems on the dp and used foam tape to raise up the sentiment. - Quick and fairly easy.

This shows the detail of the textured black paper as much as I could get.

Hope you like my version of a CAS card. - Happy Stamping.

Growing in Unity - Day 5

Welcome!  This week has went by quickly. - We are on my final day as a GIU (Growing in Unity) featured stamper.

So let's get started on today's card.

This card features the Unity stamp set,  Funny Farm.  This set is fun and great for those cards when you really don't feel the need or desire to do a lot of coloring.

The card base is, Real Red cs (SU) which I layered a panel of Daffodil Delight cs (SU) that had been embossed with a Chicken Wire embossing folder, (Cuttlebug). This particular one is retired but there are other chicken wire embossing folders out there. Plus if you'd rather use a stamp Unity has a couple of chicken wire background stamps. - I layered a piece of designer paper from Unity (Country Lovin') over the chicken wire card stock.  Next up I stamped the animal image on Crumb Cake cs with Real Red ink and used a blender brush and Crumb cake ink to distress the edges.  I cut the image out with Unity's (Scallops and Rectangles) dies. I glued the panel down and added enamel dots (Paper Studio).  The sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black in on Basic White cs and cut with an SU Stylish Die then mounted with foam tape to complete the card.

Since it's my final day and I already had the stamps and papers out I decided to create a second card with the same stamp set.

For this card I went with Crumb Cake as the card base.  Then I embossed a panel of Real Red cs with the chicken wire embossing folder and glued it over the top of the patterned paper and glued that panel down.  Next I stamped the animal image in Memento Tuxedo black ink on Daffodil delight cs and smudged on some Daffodil Delight ink.  I added just red enamel dots this time.  The sentiment was stamped with the Memento ink and distressed with a distressing tool and the ink pad.  Both the sentiment and the image panel were popped up with foam tape.

So that's the end of my time as the featured GIU stamper.  I've really enjoyed your visits and comments and had a blast creating my cards.

Don't forget to leave a comment for you chance at a $20 Unity store credit.  Winners will be drawn on Monday and posted to my blog and also on the Unity Facebook Page.

FMS#613 and CTD#770

Welcome - Well it's been a bit since I've posted. - Trying to keep up with getting Christmas cards made (I'm way behind) and of course with the holiday season starting things have been a bit hectic.  Plus on top of that I've been dealing with a cold and bad cough for a couple of weeks.  Anyway today I'm finally back to share a card.

This card is for FMS#613  and CTD#770

Here is the sketch:
and below is the Color combo from the throwdown.

This is what I created for these 2 challenges.  - I wanted to try and do a Christmas card with this color combo - It seems strange for Christmas but it actually works.

This is a pretty simple CAS card but I like how it turned out.

Details:
Basic Black card base.
Trees from Unity November 2023 KOM (Festive Flair) stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White card Stock.
Colored with Prisma colored pencils and blended with Gamsol.
Strips of Washi Tape, Small Iridescent Sequins were added.
I also used some glue and Iridescent Glitter (Art Institute) to highlight the Joy sentiment.  I was cut out on an SU stylish die.
Focal Image and Banner mounted with foam tape.

The hardest part of this card was trying to line up the Washi tape evenly.  I succeeded for the most part.

Trick or Treat Fun - PP661 and NBUS55

 Welcome!

It's the start of a new week and today I'm joining the Paper Players for,
PP661 - a color challenge from LeAnne and also NBUS#55 since this is my first time using this adorable stamp set.

Before I post my card a special thanks to Claire for choosing my card
from last weeks (Space Theme) for a, Cut Above
award .

Now on to this weeks card. - When I saw the colors I was wondering how I could fit them all in the challenge and then I discovered the perfect piece of designer paper that fit all the colors of the challenge and voila~ my card was born!

So I started with a card base of Basic Black.  Then I found the designer paper from Basic Grey-Eerie Paper Pad that I've had for a couple of years.  I then cut a strip of Highland Heather and added it over the top of the designer paper.  My little Ghost and Bat Bouquet stamp and sentiment are from Unity (Ghostly Bat Ensemble).  I added highlight color to the ghost image with some colored pencils and fussy cut it out.

The sentiment and ghost were stamped on Basic White Card Stock and stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink.
I added a zigzag punched piece of Old Olive and mounted the sentiment on Pumpkin Pie card stock.  The punch is from, EK Success.  - To finish off the card I added some sequins from Picket Fence studios (Witches Brew). - I love how this one turned out.

Be sure to check out the cool cards made by the Design Team and maybe even join in on the fun with a card of your own.

Thanks for stopping by.
