Unity Kraft Challenge

Welcome. - I'm finally getting around to posting a few cards.

Today's cards are for the Unity Stamp Company Kraft Challenge.
If you want to view the other cards for this challenge click on the link HERE

Here are the cards I made for the challenge:

For this card I used this adorable mouse/dandelion image from Unity April 2023 KOM.  The sentiment was a set gifted me for Christmas.  You can purchase it here on Amazon.

Card Base: SU Pecan Pie, Kraft base is a retired SU card stock that had little bits of colored speckles in it.  The DP  was purchased at JoAnn's.

I used a border punch (SU - retired) and some lavender cs (SU retired).
Ink Pad: Pecan Pie SU
Colored Pencils.

Card #2:

All details are the same as the card about - Except the stamps and sentiment.  These are from Unity February 2023 KOM

I hope you enjoyed these cards.  It was fun to be able to sit down and craft for a change.

BC - Easter

Well I'm a tad "late" in joining the Blogger Challenge on Lisa's blog this week but I'm posting anyway.  This week I celebrated a birthday and was just a bit busy with the festivities.  Then we started working on cleaning out Coleen's room so the new flooring could be laid and the room painted.  Needless to say I just haven't had much time for stamping but I manage to make a card today so without further ado here is my entry for the BC Easter Challenge.

I used this sketch as the starting point for my card.
Card Details:
Stamps: AnnaBelle Stamps - Easter Hope
Card Stock: Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizzaz, Bermuda Bay.
Designer Paper: My Minds Eye - Bloom and Grow Collection
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Papaya and Orange - Amuse Studio
Punch: Martha Stewart
Oval and Circle Nestabilitie Dies
Prima Flower
Brad  - Jenni Bowlin

You can join in by linking your card.

I hope to get by an comment on last week and this weeks cards so please know that I will get around to leaving a comment as soon as I can.

Have a great week.

BC201 Easter Egg Flowers

Happy Friday everyone. It's a COLD one here today. The weather here is Bizarre to say the least. It's only 11 degrees outside right now but in a couple of days it's suppose to get up to 50. I long for solid Spring temperatures which I'm sure will eventually happen.
So are you ready for the BC Challenge this week.
This is the sketch our wonderful List Mom, Lisa gave us to work with. It's really different from the sketches I'm use to but I had an idea right away on how to use it (that almost never happens to me) and so I went with it and here is my card:

The DP is an old pattern I've had for years but I thought it would go well with my Stamp. The stamp is from PattiCakes and was purchased years ago too. The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts, also purchased a long time ago. I love that the (E) in Easter is a bunnies head.
Card Stock: Green Galore, Lovely Lilac, Pretty in Pink. It's nice to use up some of the old retired SU colors.
Egg Flowers colored with Copic Markers. Sentiment stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Swiss Dot embossing folder.
Punch-EK Success.

Glad to have this week over. It really started out rough with the decision to put down our dog, Angel. If you haven't visited her tribute pages you can do so HERE

This is also a Blog Hop and you can participate by leaving a link below to your card using this sketch.

BC142 - Easter Greetings

HAPPY EASTER!        This is one of my favorite holidays and the music playing today is my favorite Easter Hymn.  The theme for this weeks Blogger Challenge was (Easter)

To me the most special thing in the world is the fact that my Savior suffered and died in my place so that I might have eternal life.

You may wonder then why I have an Easter Egg on my card instead of the Cross.  I'd like to offer some fantastic explanation but the plain truth is that I have more non-religious type stamps for Easter and I didn't have time to do a second card.

However the Egg is a symbol of new life as the chick emerges from it's shell and that is sort of way person is when they accept Christ into their lives.  They emerge from their old shell/life into their new life with the Lord so I think the egg fits.

Now if you don't share my same religious beliefs that is fine but I felt I should share this part of my life with my readers.

Have a great Easter weekend.

CIC51 - Easter Blessings

Aren't these cupcakes beautiful! - These are the basis for this weeks Cupcake Inspiration Photo on Hope Stamps Eternal.    I was inspired by the colors (green, blue and gray) and of course the butterflies.  At first I was stumped about what I was going to use for my stamp and then this morning I discovered this as yet uninked stamp (Whimsical Flowered Egg) from Great Impressions that I bought last year and never used.  I water colored the image and then colored over it with Prisma Colored Pencils.  Next I masked the image and sponged on some Bashful Blue ink.  I decided to do the "Cracked Glass" technique as well to give it a bit of an "antique" feel.    I cut another butterfly out and added some shimmer with a Spica Glitter Pen.   I mounted the image to Baja Breeze Card Stock.  This was mounted on Certainly Celery with Designer Paper from Basic Grey (Figgy Pudding).  I embossed the bottom with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and added Basic Gray Ribbon (retired SU) and pearls from Zva found here:  The sentiment is from Verve (Everlasting Life) and was stamped with Basic Gray ink.
Be sure to stop by Hope's blog and check out what everyone else did with this inspiration photo.  Have a great day!

BC139 - Hippity Hop, Easter's On it's way

If you are here for the Annabelle Sketch challenge click HERE    -  Today is also Blogger Challenge day and this month we had a sketch to use.  Isn't it a great sketch.  I didn't want to do a lot of stamping because my hand just can't handle it right now so I chose to use an adorable dimensional sticker (Sandylion Essentials) that I've had for some time now.

I paired it up with some fabulous Designer paper (SU) called, Sweet Pea.  I think it's so pretty and so spring like.  We could all use a breath of fresh spring air.  Since Easter is coming up I also decided to make this into an Easter card.  The Happy Easter stamp if from Holidays and Wishes by SU.

Card Stock:  Rose Red, Old Olive, Pretty n Pink
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Other:  Flower Punch (retired SU), Scallop Punch (SU), So Saffron Brads, Houndstooth Embossing Folder, Foam Mounting Tape
Dimensional Sticker (Sandylion).
Nestabilitie Dies.

Pastel Chicks

I created this card for an "Embossing" challenge that I signed up for. I absolutely love Pastel Colors (although I rarely wear them as they make me looked washed out.) For this card I wanted the look of those cute little Easter Chicks you use to see that were dyed pastel colors for Easter. You know parents use to give them to their kids as Easter gifts. Poor little chicks usually didn't stand a chance of survival but they were cute dyed all those fun colors.

We could use any type of Embossing for our cards. For my card I used a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder (Swiss Dots) for the chicks eggs. I stamped the chick first on the color of paper I wanted with Basic Gray ink and then ran it through the Cuttlebug and cut out the egg portion. I then mounted the egg over the chick image that was stamped on Whisper White card stock and colored with SU Markers. I punched the chicks out with a Square punch and mounted them on matching colors of card stock then added a punched flower with brads to the corners.

The sentiment was stamped with a Versa Mark ink pad and Embossed with Bold Black EP and punched out with the Word Window Punch. I also dyed a white flower from the Pretties Kit with Certainly Celery ink and then pressed it onto the Versa Mark pad and embossed it with Iridescent Ice EP and added a half pearl to the center from the Pretties Kit. Then I adhered it to my bow of Pink Taffeta ribbon.

Card Stock: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Apricot Appeal, Designer Paper (Lavender Lace)

Inks: Basic Gray, SU Markers: Barely Banana, Apricot Appeal

Other: 3 For You Flower Punch, Soft Subtles Brads, Foam Mounting Tape, Cutter Kit

It was hard getting a decent photo of this card for some reason. Tall cards seem to be difficult to photograph for me. Anyway I think the card turned out cute and I hope the receiver will as well.
