Blogger Challenge - Back to School

Wow it's been a few weeks since I've done the Blogger Challenge but this week I got new stamping goodies and I specifically bought some stamps to make Coleen a "Back to School" card which just so happens to be this weeks BC Challenge.  How convenient was that!

Be sure to join Lisa (Splendiferous Creations) for the BC Challenge.

I am using the Sweet Sunday Sketch for my card so will be posting this card for that challenge as well.

Here is my card:

Stamps: Unity - Itty Bitty (Back at It)

Card Stock: SU - Colors, Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz, Lavender Lace (retired) and Whisper White.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Copic Markers.
Circle Dies - Nestabilitie.
Fishtail Dies - MFT
Embossing Folder
Gems.

For a change I also decorated the inside of the card:

Sorry about the lighting.  For some reason now I can't seem to get decent lighting to take pictures of my cards.  I'll keep trying though.

Monochromatic Sympathy

Today I am sharing a Monochromatic Sympathy card that I recently made.

Lisa (Designs by Lisa) had the Blogger Challenge on Friday for making your own background and while I'm rather "late" for the challenge here is my card.

The stamps are from SU (Summer Silhouettes) and Amuse Studio (Essential Sentiments).  This card was my first attempt at making a background with one of the background stamps in the silhouette set.  Since SU's stamps are not clear I had a hard time lining the stamp up as I cannot use the Stamp-a-ma-jig with a darn either. I had to try an "eye-ball" it and if you look closely (please don't) you'll notice I wasn't even.

Card Stock:  Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green
Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Butterfly Die - Amuse Studio
Pearls, Zva
Twine
Nestabilitie Dies.

Blogger Challenge - Wedding

Happy Friday!

Today is Blogger Challenge day over on Lisa's Blog,  Splendiferous Creations where the theme this week is,  Wedding/Anniversary cards.  I tried several different ideas yesterday and none of them were working out the way I wanted them too.  Then I remembered a stamp that I had that I thought would make a "different" sort of Wedding card and before I knew it my idea became this card:

Stamps:  Linked by Love -  The label on this stamp says, Inkadinkado but also has K&Company and Basic Grey listed on it so I'm not sure which one actually made
the stamp.  It's dated 2005 if that helps.

Card Stock:  Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black & Whisper White, SU.
    Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Punches,  Hearts (SU) and Chain Link (EK Success)
Embossing Folder:  Cuttlebug - Anna Griffin line-Rose
    Pearls - Zva

Blogger Challenge - Emboss Me, April 12, 2013

Hello & Welcome.  -  I found some time today to do some stamping and since the card I decided to make included Embossing I thought I would participate in this weeks Blogger Challenge since the theme was...Emboss Me (How convenient  was that?)
I needed a wedding card for a fellow stamper who's getting married next Saturday and

the April kit from Unity's Kit of the Month club arrived in today's mail and it had the perfect stamps for a wedding card.  I know another coincidence that worked out.

The base of the Card is Whisper White.  I added a layer of Regal Rose (soon to be retired) followed by some Embossed/Glittered Designer paper from DCWV - Spring Fling Stack.  The bells were embossed using Pink Pearls (Stamp-n-Stuff) embossing power on the Regal Rose card stock and mounted on Whisper White.  I stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo black ink, wiped off the hearts and colored them in with a Regal Rose marker before stamping.  This was mounted on a piece of Cool Carribean (retired SU) card stock.  I added an embossed strip of Barely Banana (also retired SU) and some Rose Grosgrain ribbon to complete the card.

Do stop by Lisa's blog,  Designs by Lisa and check out the other participants and hey if you have time give it a go yourself.  Have a great weekend.

Blogger Challenge - All You Need is Love

Hi,  Me again...Yes I know it's been a few weeks since I posted and yes I did say that I was "trying" to get back into stamping more this year but sometimes the best laid plans do go awry.

With that said let's head on over to Lisa's blog (Designs by Lisa) for this weeks Blogger Challenge,  All You Need is Love.

Designer Paper, BoBunny
Dimensional Sticker, K&Company.
Puffy Heart Stickers (source unknown)
Punch, Martha Stewart.

Blogger Challenge - Back to School 8-17-12

Well I don't know about you but for me it seems as if summer has just flown by.  Haven't really done anything spectacular (no trips, vacations) just general everyday living but the days have past quickly and in just 2 short weeks Coleen heads back to school.  - I'm not sure if she's excited about that or not this year.

With that in mind let's join Lisa and the other Blogger Challenge members as we celebrate the theme:  Back To School this week.  I meant to particpate in last weeks challenge but time go away from me so I made sure to get a card ready for this weeks challenge.

Here is my card:

I haven't bought many new stamps this years so had to make do with what I had on hand for this card.

I started with some patterned paper from Die Cuts with a View.  I cute the Alphabit stip off and added it to some Whisper White cs and punched the border down the side.

Next I added the Apple piece from the paper pack and mounted it on Basic Black cs.

The Pencil is from a set by Mint Motif and the sentiment comes from MFT-Emma and her backpack set.

Card Stock: Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black.  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black.
Colored Pencils.

Hey it's time for the Bloggers Challenge over at Splendiferous Creations Where list mom Lisa has given out the challenge to use Die Cuts on our projects.

My blogging buddy, Allison (Stampin When I Can) sent me this cute Die Cut earlier this year and I decided to give it a whirl and see what I could come up with using it.
Thanks Allison for the fun Die Cut.

Blogger Challenge - May 25, 2012

Hello! - Well it's been a very "productive" week here for me and a BUSY one as well.  My friend, Teresa came down to visit on Tuesday and we worked on cards, ate donuts and fruit, went to JoAnn's and bought crafty stuff, went to lunch, chatted, laughed and had a great time.
So yesterday I finished up all 6 cards for the card swap and mailed them. Made a birthday card for a Pen-pal and mailed it and then decided to make a card for the Blogger Challenge since it's been a few weeks since I've participated. (Did you miss me?)  So without further ado here is my card...

The challenge Lisa (Designs by Lisa Somerville) gave us this week is a color challenge:  Brown, Green and any Neutral Color.  Oh my, I had brown designer paper, green designer paper but nothing that had those two colors together.  Then I remembered that I had some wonderful 6x6 paper pads and found some awesome patterns in one of them.  The pad is from DCWV - Safari Chic Matstack.
The stamps I used are from: SU - In The Wild and Paradise - Both are Retired Stamp Sets.
The Sentiment is from: Annette Allen Watkins
Card Stock: Chocolate Chip, River Rock, Very Vanilla
Ink: Mellow Moss, Soft Suede and a tiny bit of More Mustard Chalk on the Giraffe
Other: Circle Nestabilitie Dies, Brown Pearls (Zva), Button, Linen Thread

So now you can join in on the challenge and link back here:

Wishing you all a very Safe and Happy Memorial Day Weekend. - Summer is almost here!!!

Blogger Challenge - Two in One

Happy Friday! - The sun is trying to shine today.  Had 85 degree weather on Monday and 50 degree weather with rain yesterday.  What's up with the weather! - Okay you didn't come here to chat about weather did you?  So let's get on with today's Blogger Challenge. - Create Your Own Background Paper.

First off for my card today I've combined this weeks challenge along with last weeks Sketch challenge which I missed.  It was a hectic week last week with my mom in the hospital for a couple of days, celebrating my 20th Wedding Anniversary and just trying to keep up with normal life.  Since I wasn't able to post I thought I just use the sketch for this weeks challenge as a starting point.

Here is the Sketch from last week:

Here is my card:
For this card I used Backgrounds by Design3 from AnnaBelle Stamps to create both the patterned background on this card.  I also used the stamp set, All Things Grow for the focal panel.  The sentiment was computered generated.
Card Stock: Chocolate Chip and Whisper White (SU)
Amuse Studio - Latte
Inks: Latte and French Roast-Amuse Studio
Punch: Martha Stewart
Pearls - AnnaBelle Stamps

I'll be sending this to a man recovering from surgery, I think it has a great masculine feel don't you?

Join in on the fun and post a link to your card:

Blogger Challenge - To "Die" for

Happy Friday!  How is Spring your way?
Here is how it was here this morning:

What Season is it? - We've seen it all today, Snow, Clouds, Sunshine, Hail and more rain!
So last week the BC Challenge was, For The Birds and I missed it.  Bummer! - This week it's, To Die for using Dies or a Die Cutting Machine.  Well I didn't have time to come up with something use a Die as I was busy trying to send out a few Easter cards and get ready for Easter.  However I had a challenge on another group to create an, All White card and I did use my die cutting machine (Cuttlebug) to emboss part of my card and I used Punches as well so while they aren't really Die's I hope this card will do.  It covers both challenges even though it's to late to link up for last week.
You can check out the other entries by visiting Lisa's blog and participate by linking your card as well.

HAPPY EASTER! - Coleen may be hunting eggs with a fur parka on if the weather doesn't cooperate!

I used this sketch as the starting point for my card.

BC - Color Challenge and a Catch Up Challenge

Happy Friday! - It's time for the Blogger Challenge over on Lisa's Blog (Splendiforous Creations).  I missed last weeks challenge and was a bit bummed because the theme was, By The Seashore and I love the ocean and have several beach themed stamp sets that I could have used.  Time just got away from me and I never got a card made for the challenge.  I thought well maybe I could make it up with this weeks theme and then I checked and it was a color challenge, Red, Black and White (or Vanilla) and well I thought how on earth could I pull off a By the Seashore card with those colors....Well here is what I came up with:

So what do you think, did I pull it off or not?
I used this sketch: Roughly changing the bottom portion just a little since I couldn't put a "wave" upside down!
Details:  Card Stock: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
Stamps:  Amuse Studio: Life's A Breeze
Ink: Real Red, Memento Tuxedo Black and a Copic Marker (R29)
Punch: Fiskars
Nestabilitie Dies
Tiny Bubbles Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug)
Paper Piercing Tool and Distressing Tool.

So now why don't you join in on the fun and show us your work.

Blogger Challenge - In Bloom

Hello and Happy Friday.  I took a week off last week from the Blogger Challenge but am back today to share my card for this weeks Challenge,  In Bloom.  What a great theme, I love flowers.  Since Valentine's Day is rapidly approaching I decided to combine today's challenge along with making a card for my mom for Valentine's Day.
Her favorite flowers are Roses so that's what I went with and this is what I came up with.

It's a CAS design and one that I've used before.  See card HERE  I wanted something that was easy to make since I'm pressed for time and yet was elegant.  I think this works quite well.

Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, All Year Cheer3-rtrd. - Both SU
Card Stock: Basic Gray, Rose Red, Whisper White
Ink: Regal Rose, Cherry Cobbler, Pretty in Pink.
Ribbon, American Crafts, Hearts-AnnaBelle Stamps
Pewter Shimmer Spray-Tsukineko

I'm also sharing another hobby of mine:  Photography with you today since it fits the theme:

This is what I do when I'm not stamping.  I like to take photographs and also do Photo Art with some of them.  This is one of the pieces that I did this week.

You can join in on the fun by creating a card and posting it using the Linky feature:

Wishing you all a very Happy Valentine's Day!
