Rounding out Christmas Cards for 2020

 Welcome!

Today's post is going to be filled with all the Christmas cards I never got around to posting before Christmas so I can finish up 2020's cards.

First up a couple of Poinsettia cards made with the same die I used on this card

Card #1

For this card I left in the pieces of the die - Well actually I had to glue most of them back in (pain in the butt).  The patterned paper is the reverse side of the paper from the card above.
I also used circle Nestabilitie dies and the bow die from the Pines and Holly die set (Newton's Nook.) Card stock was Real Red, Very Vanilla and an unknown piece of textured green card stock.  I also added some sequins and bakers twine.

Card #2

This card is actually the very first card I made using that Poinsettia die.  Pretty simple design.  Card Stock, Whisper White & Real Red.  Added some pearls to the center of the flowers, embossed a panel with the Swiss Dot embossing folder and embossed the Noel sentiment with white embossing powder on a shaped rectangle nestabilitie die.

Card #3

This one was a quick and easy card.  I wanted to use that cute little Gingerbread paper.  I also had a little Gingerbread stamp from a small Inkadinkado set that I used, The sentiment was from the Christmas Characters stamp set (Inkadinkado).  I added some stripped Washi Tape and Gems to complete the look.
Card Stock: Shaded Spruce, Real Red & Whisper White.

Card #4

Card Stock: Mossy Meadow, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler & Whisper White.
This one used a combination of dies from 2 different sets.  The Poinsettia, Holly leaves & Berries are from Momenta and the Joy sentiment is from a Sizzix set.  I used a piece of designer paper that I bought at Hobby Lobby and some poinsettia washi tape and sequins to complete the card.

Card #5 - Which I thought I had posted but apparently hadn't.

Card Base - Basic Black (yes you read that right).  I added a piece of designer paper that was black with red/green holly and berries. Other colors used: Real Red, Old Olive & Very Vanilla.  The other is a piece of DP from SU.  Dies are from the Holly/Pines set. Also used some Oval Dies.  I added glitter to the berries on the dp as well as the die cut ones.

So now I'm all caught up with all the cards I made for Christmas of 2020.

My plan is to start making cards for 2021 in January and make a few each month so I don't have to rush getting cards made for next Christmas.

Hope you've enjoyed these & Happy New Year as this will be my last post for this year.

Snowflake Christmas

 Hello & Welcome.

Anyone who knows me well knows that Snow and Winter aren't my favorite things.  However when they are on a card that's a different story.

Today's card isn't for any challenge (shocking).  It's one that I made after seeing this Tag .

I thought it was so pretty and thought it would be fun to create a card with a Snowflake die as the focal point.

Here is what I came up with.

I wish I hadn't photographed it on the red paper as the back came out rather dark looking.  Oh well.

The card is Whisper White (I'm so sad that it is no longer available) and Brushed Silver.

I cut the Snowflake die (Momenta) out and saved the negative piece.
Then I embossed that with the Swiss Dot embossing folder.  Next I stamped the Merry Christmas (an old SU set) with Versamark ink and Silver EP.  I mounted that on a piece of the Brushed Silver card stock.  I rotated the snowflake die slightly from the negative one and mounted it with foam tape and added a silver sprinkle to the center of the snowflake.  That panel was then mounted with foam tape on the white base.  It's simple but elegant looking (at least I thought it was).

A Thrill of Hope

 Welcome!

Today I'm sharing a trio of cards that I made using a new stamp set,

So this will be entered in on NBUS#21 as well.

Card #1 - Card Base: Early Espresso layered on Old Olive that was stamped with SU Wood Grain (retired). Then I used a new Die Cut, Nested Wood Frames (Hero Arts) on Crumb Cake and brushed it with Crumb cake ink lightly.  I added a piece of Designer paper purchased at JoAnn's.  The Noel sentiment was stamped with Old Olive ink on Whisper White cs & mounted on a circle of Early Espresso. I added 3 light green self-adhesive gems.  The deer image was stamped with Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake and fussy cut. I mounted it with foam tape.

Card #2 - I used the same 3 colors of card stock on this card (Early Espresson, Old Olive & Crumb Cake.
The Designer Paper is a piece I've had in my stash for some time and I've since cut off the end that showed where it came from (got to stop doing that or write it down somewhere.)
I stamped the tag with the woodgrain background stamp and then embossed the trees with Winter White ep and stamped the Joy sentiment with Early Espresso and the Snowflakes with Crumb Cake in.  The small deer were stamped with Early Espresso on Crumb cake, cut out and mounted with foam tape.  I added a small piece of olive green/white ribbon (source unknown) also added the same green gems as card 1.

Card #3 This card uses Shaded Spruce, Real Red & Whisper White card stock.

I stamped the row of tree & the sentiment with Shaded Spruce ink, the deer and the world were stamped with Early Espresso ink.  I added a strip of Washi Tape (that's the pine branches and berries) ath the bottom of the card & some sequins to complete the card.

I hope you have enjoyed these 3 cards.  It's a great set to work with.

Paper Players and NBUS

 Hello & Welcome.

Here today with a couple of cards that I'm sharing for the following challenges:

Paper Players #520 - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Here are the cards that I created for these challenges. The designer paper and stamp/die set are the new items I used.

I started with a piece of unusual (for Christmas) designer paper that I purchased this week at Hobby Lobby.  I love the colors and the shimmer of the paper and thought it would be fun to try some Christmas cards using it.

So do you think these colors work for Christmas cards?

So for the first card I used: Pacific Point, then Pink Passion and Lavender Lace (the Pink Passion and Lavender Lace are retired colors). I die cute the bells from Brushed Silver card stock. Almost forgot I used Mint Macaron for the bow.

I layered the designer paper along with a punched strip of the lavender paper onto the pink passion piece. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used Baker's Twine and foam tape to mount the bells.  I also mounted that panel onto the Pacific Point card base with foam tape.

Stamp & Die set is from Sizzix - Silver Bells and was purchased at Hobby Lobby. - The bow on the first card is from another die set, Pines and Holly by Newton's Nook.

Second card I used the same colors (except no Pacific Point) and I added Whisper White for the banner.
Also used a Musical Note Embossing folder (Sizzix) and some old retired silver cord from SU.

Freshly Made Sketches #464

 Hello!

Here is my card for this weeks Freshly Made Sketch #464

This card started with a small piece of Designer Paper that I found in my stash.  I have no clue where it came from though.

I started with the Card Base of Cherry Cobble layered next with Pool Party (SU) and finally the DP.  I embossed a small square of Cherry Cobbler with a snowflake embossing folder that mimics the pattern in the DP perfectly.  Next I die cut a large snowflake (Momenta) in Pool Party then used a Versamark pad and some Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (SU) and heat set it.  I stamped the sentiment from the Peaceful Wishes stamp set (Artful Inkables) with memento tuxedo black ink and added a red sequin to the center of the snowflake.

Pretty easy card to create.

Fushion Challenge - Merry, Joy, Cheer and NBUS

Hello friends & Welcome.

Today I'll be joining the current Fushion Challenge: Merry, Joy, Cheer.

Here is my card for this challenge.

I was inspired by the sketch and the inspiration photo.
It was really hard to photograph this so you don't get to see the shimmer from the EP but it really sparkles in real life.  This shows a little more of the sparkle.

I started with the basic sketch and then decided to add the ornaments and sentiment to mimic the pompoms in the inspiration photo.
Plus the (Merry) from the sentiment and of course the festive colors.

Because I used Never Before Used Schtuff I'm also entering it on the NBUS Blog.

The sentiment and the 2 ornaments on the left side of the card are from Unity Stamp Company (October 2013 Kit of the month). Yep it's taken me a few years to use them!

I embossed the snowflake ornament with White Satin and Diamonds embossing powder (Embossing Arts) and a Versamark Pad.  The smaller gold ornament was stamped with Egyptian Gold embossing powder (Judikins) - Both were then cut out and mounted with foam tape on the card.  The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and embossed with Bold Black embossing powder (SU) and cut out with circle dies.

Card stock: Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White (SU)
Designer Paper: Heartwarming Hugs (SU)
Other: Bakers Twine and Washi Tape.
