Paper Players Challenge #546 - Fruit and Berries

Back again and yes I know this is the 2nd post in one day but I want to get this card posted before Friday.  Hopefully you all don't mind the extra post.

I'm joining in on the Paper Players Challenge #546 - Fruit and Berries.

I've wanted to use up some of the gorgeous designer paper from Stampin'Up! that they had as part of the Celebration catalog this year.

So here is what I created for this challenge.

Stamps: Berry Blessings (SU) - Which sadly did not make the current catalog nor did the super cool paper, Berry Delightful.

For this card I stamped the berry with Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss inks on watercolor card stock (Tim Holtz)
I used a water brush to give the berry a water color look.  I stamped the stem and leaves the same way using Shaded Spruce and Granny Apple Green ink and then fussy cut them out.

Next I stamped just the outline of the leaves with Granny Apple Green ink stamping it off once and then onto a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I cut that out with a circle die and layered onto another circle die of Whisper White.  The berry was mounted with foam tape.

I did a small piece of rick-rack using a punch (Ek Success) and layered it over the piece of designer paper which was then mounted on a piece of Whisper White card stock and layered to the card base.
I'm guessing the base was Rich Razzleberry as I couldn't find a piece of the Blackberry card stock to compare it with.  Color compared today and the base is Blackberry Bliss.

Finally I highlighted the berry with a hint of clear glitter to give it a bit of sparkle.

Have a great day & thanks for stopping by.

Tropical Birthday wishes

Popping in today with a card that I made yesterday to send to a friend for their upcoming birthday. - No special challenge for this one, just a spontaneous creation.

I had bought this super cool piece of paper at JoAnn's (Damask Love - Sunshine Blvd) and want to use it for a card.

I have a friend that loves going to Hawaii and thought she would enjoy a tropical themed birthday card.  I put this together super quick yesterday since I wanted to get it off in the mail and had to have it to ready to mail by 2:00 to go out in the mail on time.

I spent about 1/2 hour looking for that Happy Birthday stamp, it's one of my old favorites and apparently one of my mom's as well since after moving a bunch of boxes to look in her stamping stuff I found it.

The card went together quickly after that.  I used my Momenta Die set that was used on (this card)

So here are the colors and details:
Card Stock: Pacific Point, Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party and Whisper White (*retired)

The sentiment was stamped with Pacific Point ink.  - I added some green bakers twine that I purchased at the dollar store and a tiny white pearl to complete the card.  Also circle dies and foam mounting tape.

That's it for today...now off to stamp for one of the current challenges.

Paper Players Color Challenge #545

 Hello & welcome!

Joining in today with the Paper Players for a color challenge

#PP545

Here is the card I created for the challenge.  I just had to use my flamingo again for this challenge.  (getting good use out of those dies and stamps)!

For this one I used the Bermuda Bay for the card base, layered with a piece of Granny Apple Green (my new favorite SU color) and a layer of retired Whisper White.  I used a small band of Basic Black card stock and a small strip of designer paper (Bella Blvd).

I stamped the flamingo from SU's (Friendly Flamingo) stamp set with Melon Mambo Ink and used the flamingo die (Flamingo Dies) to cut it out.  I stamped the leaves ink Granny Apple Green ink and die cut them as well.  The small flowers were also stamped in Melon Mambo on white cs and die cut with a flower die from the set.  The circle die is a Nestability die.  I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo black ink.  I added green gems to the flowers and two small pink pearls by the sentiment.  The flamingo was raised up with foam mounting tape.

That's is for this challenge but I loved those colors together and hope you do as well.

Freshly Made Sketches #488 and NBUS#27

 Happy Monday!

Joining in today for Freshly Made Sketches#488 and NBUS#27

Here is the sketch

I debated about posting my card since it's a little loose of an interpretation of the sketch but then I though why not...so without further ado here it is:

For this card I used a brand new die set from Momenta that I purchased at Hobby Lobby.  It also featured an embossing folder which I used as well on this card.

The sentiment is also new: It's from Stampin'Up! (Through it Together) set.

Card Base: Mossy Meadow, Embossed Layer, Old Olive, Sentiment stamped on Whisper White with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Cheetah was cut out with a piece of ColorCore Cardstock from Core'dinations which I've had for a very long time.  One side had a chocolate color and then the other was a different color.  When you sand it the other color shows through.  I loved how this really made the cheetah die pop.  The die leaves were cut using Mossy Meadow and More Mustard* (retired) card stock.

The DP is from the Safari Chic Matstack (DCWV)

I spritz the card base & embossed layer with Antique Bronze Distress Spray (Tim Holtz)

I had a lot of fun with this card.

Fushion Card Challenge - Laugh Decor

Hello & Welcome.  Before I get started on today's post I'd like to say how excited I was this week to have 2 of my cards chosen as honorable mention cards for the challenges.

I made the Paper Players #542 - Cut Above for my Flamingo card &
Freshly Made Sketches #487for my floral trio card.

Now on to today's card.

I'm joining the Fusion Card Challenge - Laugh Decor

This week I went more towards the inspiration photo and the laughter theme.

Here is what I created:

For this card I dug out one of my mom's stamps to use as my focal image.  She loved "cute" things and thought these frogs were adorable (so do I).  I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with colored pencils (Prisma) and blended with Gamsol.
The sentiment is one from Hero Arts - Anytime messages.
Card Stock: Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White and a retired SU color of blue.   The designer paper is a scrap that I had.
I used Nestabilitie Dies and a Fishtail Die (MFT) and some sequins to finish off the card.

Inside I stamped one of my favorite "saying" stamps: Hero Arts (Celebrate just living).

That's it for today. - Have a great day & thanks for stopping by.
