Paper Players Challenge #566 - Give Thanks

Welcome! - Today's card is for the Paper Players Theme Challenge #566 - Give Thanks

Below is my card for the challenge.  I made a CAS card for this challenge which is something I rarely do as I find them a bit out of my comfort zone.  I always keep thinking they need something more.

This one came together very quickly since most of the items were already laying on my desk having been discarded from other card projects and they hadn't yet made it into the (future use box).

Card Base: Mossy Meadow, Next Layer Old Olive which I embossed with a leaf embossing folder (Paper Studio) but used the debossed side.  I had a scrap of plaid designer paper used from a Christmas card on my desk so I added that strip and then I had a punched leaf border (EK Success) out of More Mustard*retired SU that I then stamped with Versamark ink using a *retired SU background stamp (Sanded).  I layered that over the plaid piece.  Finally I had a sentiment stamp from the Autumn Blessing stamp set that I purchased with a magazine at JoAnns already stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I used rectangle dies (Spellbinders) to cut it out and mounted in onto another piece of Mossy Meadow then used foam tape to raise it up.  Voila, all done.

So do you think it could have used anything else? I debated about adding some gems or sequins but in the end felt it looked just fine without them.

  2. I like the CAS design! All the texture with the embossing and Sanded texture on the leaf strip adds a lot of interest! The plaid layer also sets off the leaves. Thanks for sharing at The Paper Players!

  4. Looks great from here, Ida! CAS cards can be tricky for me too, but your subtle textures made it perfect

  5. I think your card is perfect! You made great use of your spare parts and they came together beautifully. Love the debossed panel. I still have the Sanded background, too (even after the most recent purge).
