"Two fer" card challenge: FMS & CTD

Hello and Welcome!

Today I'm featuring 2 different cards.  One is for the Color Throwdown and the other is for Freshly Made sketches.

Here's where the "Two-fer" part comes in.  I used the same sketch for both cards.

 Freshly Made Sketches #602

Below is the card that I made for FMS#602

For this card I used a stamp set that I got last year, Hocus Pocus from Photo play.  You can see a couple of the cards I made here and here and here.  (You can check out the links for extra inspiration using that set if you want.)

Card Base: Basic Black, next layer, Only Orange (retired SU) that I stamped the little star image from the set with Only Orange ink.

I added a piece of plaid designer paper (DCWV - Spooky Time) and a piece of purple card stock to the left side.  Image was colored with pencils.  Added some punched bats from the set and some purple sequins to complete the card.

COLOR THROWDOWN#759

This weeks color choices were:

Here is the card I made for this challenge.  - It uses the same sketch as the card above.

This one was "tough" for me. - Card base: Cherry Cobble (for the maroon in the color scheme). Next layer, Only Orange (retired SU) that I embossed with a leaf embossing folder and then brushed metallic Gold ink on.

I stamped some of the leaves (retired SU set, Autumn Leaf Prints) and then water colored them using retired SU watercolor pencils and  water brush.  After it dried I used a different leaf stamp from the same set and Versamark ink and then embossed with Detail Gold embossing powder.  I also used the SU Itty Bitty Background set (retired SU) and some Real Red and Only Orange ink to add some splatters.  The sentiment is from, Stamp Rose.  To finish the card I added some orange baker's twine.

That's it for these two challenges.  I hope you have enjoyed your visit.

Color Throwdown #714

 Hello & Welcome!

Today I'm joining the Color Throwdown #714 challenge and also NBUS#43:

Here is the Throwdown inspiration photo & colors:

I was inspired by the colors and the photo.  I went through a bunch of fall themed stamps and found one that belonged to my mom that I had never used before so that is my "NBUS" stuff for this card as well as the designer paper that I used.

Here is my card:

Details: Card Stock: Early Espresso, Night of Navy, Basic White and More Mustard*(retired) - Designer Paper (Plaid print from DCWV - Pumpkin Patch Stack.

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Early Espresso, More Mustard*

Stamps: Have a Festive Fall - Stampa Rosa, Acorn/Leaves -Studio112 which was purchased at JoAnns many years ago and never used.

Other: Fishtail Dies - MFT Stamps, Circle Nestability Dies, Colored Pencils, Gamsol, Distress Tool, Sponge, Masking Paper.

For this card I stamped the image on the white card stock and again on masking paper.  Then I cut out the image from the masking paper and laid it over the image on the card stock and sponged the Night of Navy ink over it.  I took the mask off and colored the rest of the image adding in some of the navy with a q-tip in places where I missed the ink from sponging.

The sentiment and the leaf image were mounted on the card with foam tape for dimension.  I distressed the edges of the mustard card stock with a distressing tool and also brushed some More Mustard ink around the edges.

Freshly Made Sketches #496 and NBUS#28

Hello again.  -  This week I'm actually "on-time" for the newest sketch challenge on Freshly Made Sketches #496!

Here is the sketch:

Below is my card that I made using it.

Since I'm entering this for NBUS#28 I am listing the new items that I used for this card.

I love, love, love this entire collection but for my budget's sake I only bought a couple of pieces of the paper.

Other:  SU - Cajun Craze, Early Espresso card stock.
SU Early Espresso Ink Pad
Leaf Die - Cuttlebug (I believe these are no longer available).
Foam Mounting Tape.

That's it,  Simple & Easy but very pretty.

Inside of card: Sentiment is an old (2005) Woodblock stamp from,
Serendipity.
Now be sure to stop by the challenge blog and check out all the Design Teams cards & the other participants cards.  You won't be disappointed.
