Hello Friend Bloggers Challenge

Yep, it's Friday and that means it's Bloggers Challenge Day. A group of stamper's decided to do a weekly challenge and post our cards on Fridays so we could see what everyone came up with for the challenge. I have a side bar for the Bloggers Challeng Group so be sure to check out their blogs as well.

This weeks challenge was to create a card using the template of the card posted on Page 108 of the new Fall/Winter Stampin'Up! catalog. I liked this sketch much better then last weeks!

For my card I used: Purely Pomegranate Card Stock for the card base & stamped the Fine Lace Background stamp in Pomegranate ink as well. I stamped the flowers from In The Spotlight Hostess set with Soft Sky & Purely Pomegranate inks on Whisper White card stock & cut them out. Then I stamped the flower centers with Blue Bayou ink & punched them out using a 3/4" circle punch. I punched out squares of the Bayou & Pomegranate card stock with a 1 3/8" square punch and layered the flowers on the squares. The flower centers were raised with dimensional tape and I added a Blue Ice Circle rhinestone brad to the center of the Pomegranate flower.

My flower squares were layered on Blue Bayou card stock distressed with the Cutter Kit & Blue Bayou ink and sewed (yes, I'm starting to sew on my cards now and getting over my fear of the sewing machine) with white thread. The side layers are Blue Bayou card stock and Soft Sky Designer series background paper. Then I added a strip of French Blue grosgrain ribbon, which sadly has been retired and used staples to attach the ribbon to the card to complete this sketch.

I love how this card turned out. It is fun to see how many different takes on a card design you can come up with which is why this Blogger's Challenge Group was created. Have FUN viewing everyone's cards. - Ida

  1. Ida - I love how this turned out. The colors are great. As a matter of fact, the color palette is similar to the one I chose too!
