Friends Ephemera card

Hi,  Thanks for stopping by. - Your visit and comments are greatly appreciated.

Today's card uses the same colors as yesterday's card but is quite different.

For this card I started with a Tempting Turquoise piece of card stock and a scrap of the Unity designer paper that I had left over.  I also found a packet of American Crafts ephemera (Bungalow Lane) that I had received as a Christmas gift.  I opened it and discovered that it had several pieces that would fit the same color scheme as yesterdays card.  I chose 3 different pieces to use on this card.

First step was using an old SU retired background stamp, (Sanded) which I stamped on a smaller piece of the TT card stock with the Pretty Peacock ink.  Then I took the pieces of ephemera and jazzed them up a bit by adding ink to the edges of the larger flower, Wink of Stella to the centers of the flowers and glitter on the little side berries.

I stamped the same sentiment with Versa mark ink and embossed with Black ep. - The flowers were then layered with foam tape and the punched heart was added along with 3 gems and finally another piece of the Washi tape was added to complete the card.  Simple and easy to create.

Again since I finally used the Ephemera I will add this card to NBUS #75 challenge.

Floral Challenge with TK

Hi and Welcome!

It's time for a new challenge between myself and TK (Time for Kards).

This time we are using another image from Penny Black called,
Garden Trio which also features a matching die set, Garden Trio Cut-Out.  Plus circle dies from PB (Stitched Square and Circles).

Here is my card that I created with the images and dies that she stamped and cut out for me to use.

The flowers in this card reminded me of, (poppies) so I wanted to go with poppy like colors for my card.  I had a very old piece of designer paper from (My Minds Eye) in my stash that has never been used and decided to base my color scheme off of it.

Card Base: Tangerine Tango (retired SU - this was one of my favorite SU colors and I was sad when they retired it). Next layer is Costal Cabana - SU.  Then the designer paper.  Also used were Unity Stamps Rectangle and Scallop dies.

The sentiment is from PB - Blooms stamp set.

I colored the image with Colored Pencils and blended with a blending stump and Gamsol).  For a little touch of sparkle I used some Black Diamond stickles (Ranger).

You can see some of the sparkle on this close-up section of the card.

To achieve the darker shading behind the flower I cut out another circle on masking paper and used it as a mask and ink blended some Pecan Pie ink over the patterned paper.  The flower, circle and sentiment are raised up using foam tape.  To complete the card I added some small white pearls.

Don't forget to stop by TK's blog (Time for Kards) and check out what she created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Players #736 (Something Old, Something New), Freshly Made Sketches#685 & A Challenge with a Friend

 Hi,  Welcome to my blog.

So today I'm combining a challenge that I'm doing with a friend,  TK from Time4Kards along with this weeks Paper Players #736 challenge:
Something Old, Something New. and Freshly Made Sketches#685

My good friend, Terri (aka TK) and I met awhile back for a visit and coffee together.  She brought a long an envelope filled with stamped images and sentiments that she said we could use to do one of our challenges together.  We each used the same image for our cards.

Since the Image is new to me and also the die-cut that I chose to use and I'm using very old card stock and a patterned piece of paper that I've had in my stash for a couple of years now I thought this card would work great for the Paper Players challenge.

So without further ado here is my card:  Click to enlarge cards.

Here's another view of the card:

For this card I started with the patterned paper as my inspiration point along with this weeks Freshly Made Sketch #685.  I bought the designer paper at Hobby Lobby several years ago and have never used it.  Then I decided to use this image from the ones TK gave me.  It's from Penny Black (Blooms) and comes with a matching die although for this image I didn't have the die so I fussy cut my image.  I colored it with a mixture of Colored Pencils and Copic Markers.  I used 3 color pencils, Celadon Green and Powder Blue and Metallic Gold. The marker I used was, Powder Blue as well.  I added Wink of Stella, Gold Glitter and Tarnished Brass Mica Spray to the flowers and the Embossed Background and Sentiment Die Cut.

I used retired SU card stock colors, Sage Shadow and I believe, Bliss Blue.  Both have been long retired so that is my something old along with the patterned paper.

Other items used: Fishtail Die (MFT) Swiss Dot Embossing Folder, Hello Die (Unity Stamps), Rectangle Die (Unity Stamps) Small baby blue pearls and foam mounting tape.

This card has tons of shimmer on it.  Hard to see in the photos but this is a closeup of part of the card:

You can see some of the shimmer from the Mica Spray, the Gold patterned paper and the pearls.

Be sure to stop by TK's blog - Time 4 Kards and check out how she used that stamp.

PP689 - Color Challenge.

Hello & Welcome.  Before I get to my card today,  I want to say thank you to Claire for choosing my card for last weeks challenge as A Cut Above winner.  You can see that card here.

I'm back today with a card for the Paper Players Color Challenge,

Here is the card that I created for this challenge.

This is a brand new (to me) stamp set and stencil - I received it as a gift for Mother's Day so this will also be going into NBUS#62

Card Base:  Lost Lagoon, Scallop Layer: Highland Heather.
Inks:  Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia and I added Bubble Bath. The image and sentiment were stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink on Basic White card stock.  I used ink pads and blending brushes for the stenciled portion and a water brush and ink pads to color the flower.  Stamps and Stencil (Tim Holtz Mixed Media)

Other items used: Dies (Unity - Scallops and Rectangles)
Wink of Stella brush for the center of the flower. Enamel dots (Paper Studio) and foam tape.

This shows some of the shimmer from the Wink of Stella brush.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your visits and comments.
Have a great day.

Here is the card that I came up with for this color challenge:

I used an old card idea from 2009: We did this card at my stamp club back when I was a Demonstrator for Stampin'Up!

Here is the updated version using the colors from the throwdown:

Designer Paper bought at JoAnn's.  Ink Pads: Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight.  Other: Buttercup Liquid Pearls, Foam Tape, Balmy Blue marker spritz on.

Color Throwdown #758

 Hello and Welcome.

Last week I decided to do separate cards for the 3 challenges I try to participate in.

This card is for the Color Throwdown #758

Below is the card that I came up with for the challenge.

I had a hard time with this color combo for some reason.  Plus this shot makes the white look a bit yellowish.  It's hard to photograph sometimes with the lighting in our house. Plus I'm using a new editing program that I'm not totally familiar with.

Anyway...Card Details:
Card Base - Berry Burst. Punched Border is Bubble Bath  and Garden Green (SU)
Basic White and a piece of very old designer paper (source unknown) from my stash.

Image colored with Pencils.  I used an old SU stamp set, (Sassy Stems - retired).  The sentiment is from an old Hero Arts set, (Stencil Prints) I also used the retired SU Itty Bitty Backgrounds and some Bubble Bath ink to stamp around the main flower image.

Memento Tuxedo Black ink was used for the image/sentiment.
Punch is from Martha Stewart.
I added some Magenta pearls to the flowers - Source unknown.

That's it for this weeks Throwdown. - Don't forget to stop in and check out the Design Teams cards & participants.  Lots of great inspiration.

#TGIFC297 Color Challenge

 Hello & Welcome!

So today is my first posting of 2021 for a card challenge.

I'm joining the TGIFC#297 challenge.

Here is what I created for this challenge.

Details:  Card Base - Basic Black (SU) Flower Dies (unknown as they were a gift and did not have a company listed) Flowers were die cut with Whisper White (SU) cs.  The largest flower was embossed with the Swiss Dot Embossing Folder.  I used a 2 small SU cirle punches one for the center of the dotted flower and one for the center of the flower in the upper right flower.
Also used Paisley print designer paper (Doodlebug designs) that I've had in my stash forever.  A White brad and the sentiment is also from a new stamp set (Hero Greetings) from Hero Arts that I also received as a Christmas gift.  I popped the sentiment up with foam mounting tape.

A simple but fun little card to create.

Hope you have enjoyed your visit and Happy Stamping!

BC220 - Floral Frenzy

Happy Friday! Let's get right to the point today. This weeks Blogger Challenge is all about Flowers! Who doesn't love flowers?

I made 2 (very different) cards for todays challenge.
First up is a card that I designed around some patterned DP from SU - (retired Sweet Pea). I love the soft feel this paper has.

All Card Stock/Papers are SU
Sentiment is Hero Arts
Ribbon-SU
Felt Flowers-SU
Punch-EK Success
Pearls - Zva

Now card Number 2 is really a change as it has a much bolder feel about it.

I love Black, White and Red together and just threw in the green for added interest.

Stamps: Amuse.Studio
Papers-Amuse Studio and SU Whisper White
Embossing Folder-Cuttlebug
Black Pearls-Zva
Red Sprinkles - Annabelle Stamps
Punch - Martha Stewart

Try as I might after about 30 photo's I gave up on this one. I just could not get the sentiment to show up clearly in the photo after resizing it. It's much sharper and clearer in real life.
Now it's your turn to join in on the Floral Frenzy by linking your card below.

I'll leave you today with a fun YouTube Video of Coleen dancing at her Kindergarten Graduation. Try not to notice what she does towards the end of the video (Did any of your kids do that?)

Have a great day.
