Twofer Card Challeges, NBUS and Sunday Stamps

 Howdy & Welcome.

Today I have a couple of different cards to share with you for 3 separate challenges.  Badges will be listed at the bottom of the post.

Both of these cards I'm submitting for the current Twofer Challenge #31 - Trees - This is my first time trying this challenge and I had already stamped both my cards before I read that you had to use the same stamp (not stamps from the same set) to create your cards.  I actually did use the same stamp for both cards but added other stamps from the set to complete them.  So hopefully this time I can still submit for the challenge and I'll try to follow the correct rules the next time.

The 2nd card is being submitted for the NBUS #18 Challenge and lastly the first card will go for the Sunday Stamps SSC239 Autumn Awakenings challenge.

So for both these cards I used a stamp set from Wordsworth that I had never used before.

For the first card I used Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, and Sage Shadow Card Stock (all SU - Some are retired colors. I also used More Mustard ink for the Owl (which was fussy cut and mounted with foam tape) - I stamped the SU Background Woodgrain with More Mustard Ink and then layered the designer paper, Maple Grove from We Are Memory Keepers. The tree trunk was stamped with Early Espresso Ink as was the Sentiment Stamp. Scallop and Circle dies were also used.  I tied ribbon from Amuse studio and added some rust colored brads to complete the card.

For the second card I used the same tree trunk stamp but stamped it in Green Galore ink (retired SU) and used the swirl stamps from the set stamped in Tempting Turquoise, Brilliant Blue, Lovely Lilac, Pink Passion

and Only Orange (also retired SU colors).  The bird was stamped in Real Red ink and fussy cut and mounted with foam mounting tape.

The background paper is from American Crafts Picnic in the Park series that I purchased today for this card. I stamped the (Hi) sentiment from the set with Memento Tuxedo black in and mounted them on rectangle dies.

I hope you've enjoyed my creations as much as I did creating them.

  4. Oh, wow! I love these cards so much! Fall colors and birds, including owls, have my heart, but then I'm also a fan of whimsy and fun, bright colors, so I just can't stop going back to your second card. Ida, it's okay to use additional stamps as long as your prompt stamp is the same on both cards. You did perfect with these -- same stamp, different occasion, different sketch. Totally fabulous! BTW, I have all those retired SU colors, too.

  5. What great designs, Ida, so fun and colorful! That tree stamp was a great choice! It looks perfect for that wide-eyed owl to perch on amid a lovely matching array of fall colored pp! And what a great modern lollipop tree you made for your second hello design! I love that sweet bird and the touch of ricrac! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #32! Hugs, Darnell

  9. So happy to see you in the gallery, Ida. Your cards are delightful. I love all those rich, Fall colors on your birthday card, and I'm a big fan of patterned paper, too, so this is right up my alley! Darling owl on a very cool tree. And your 'hi' card is so sweet in all those fun, happy colors. Love the abstract leaf groups on that 'funky trunk,' too! Thank you so much for joining us at The Twofer Challenge. Bev
